Originally, networks were so slow that their speed was measured in just bits, but as network speeds increased, we started measuring internet speed in kilobits per second (remember 56k modems? That meant 56 kilobits per second), and now, megabits per second. The download speed suddenly dropped to less than half on my Nighthawk R7000 router, the upload speed however not affected. I have a fiber connection and tried the connection directly to a PC and got the correct speed, I even tried an old router and the speed was correct as well. The firmware is latest V1.0.9.34_10.2.36. Of course, 9 MBytes download is, technically, Up to 50, just like getting a pint of gas when you pay Up To $4 a gallon. Actually, for paying money to double my speed from 25 to 50 and getting 9 is inexcusable. I thought it might be my wireless connection up my Upload is 45 MBPS, so it's moving the data.
